The Most Underrated Companies To Watch In Robot Vac Industry
Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vac uum will keep your floors tidy enough to reduce the frequency of hoovering manually. Look for one that offers an easy navigation, can clean stairs and corners, and has a large dust bin that needs emptying only periodically.

There are models that mop and charge themselves this is an option important for families with children or pets. A lot of the top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a great option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it fills up.

Both robots do well picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they are very good at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested, the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities, so it may get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it might encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it started. The battery's lifespan is around an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most crucial feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot via the app or via voice.

The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to begin or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and pick up large dust or crumbs. It has three suction modes to meet the task being performed. It can quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.

This model has a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also gives easy access to 2 attachments and the Wand. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons models, which require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its short running time. Its claims on the market that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is a standard battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to vacuum the majority of an average-sized house but not long enough to cover every area (though an additional run-through often will suffice). However, this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's a great choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robot. It could pick up the majority of types of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation capabilities and can better maneuver itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, because it has a better battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode on its own and comes with physical boundary strips, and is controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable and has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on bare floors and low-pile carpet, while offering a wider range of features for automation.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's no surprise that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard technology to aid in navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app provides plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and much more. It's simple to comprehend and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller objects like cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than some of the other models we tried and could be a deterrent for some buyers.

The app lets you access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or children while you are away. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned to ensure an easy, quick clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps keep the robot's bin clear and maximizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Black and Decker robots have been developed specifically for hard flooring. They have an extra-wide cleaning path and dust bins that are 2X larger than the competition. This lets them clean the area for longer. They also have two side sweepers for cleaning along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which senses whether it's picking up dirt or debris on the surface and then automatically adjusts the power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that allows users to see a virtual map, control functions, and create schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and then send it to the dock for charging with the press of a single button. The app also lets you to customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum using different colors, so that you can clearly see the areas where it's focused or where it's got stuck.

The app makes it possible to manually steer the robot, if necessary. For example my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that has a tendency to make it difficult for other robots I've tested. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border without registering it as a cliff. And the ability to create the weekly cleaning schedule is a great time-saving convenience.
