It is possible to lower the side panel itself, but this isn't advised, because it increases the chance that your child will fall out of the cot. However, the patented safety locking mechanism guarantees that it can only remain in place if it is connected to the bed properly. This feature is fantastic for peace of mind if you breastfeed and require frequent nighttime feeds.
