The One Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Mistake Every Newbie Makes
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who want to get mopping off their to-do list. Some models have superior mapping capabilities and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.

It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one motion. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop rotates at a high rate and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects like books and broken toys.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is simple to install, and it works well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum to mop you must be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to purchase an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and efficiently. This ensures an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively rapid.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to alter the amount of suction and choose between a back-andforth, or a more random patterns. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.

It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to keep in mind that the device is subject to regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and includes a broad range of physical automation features. This includes the power button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning session. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or just want a cleaner home without spending hours doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. It is a powerful machine with smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes an elastomer pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. auto vacuum is its accurate floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to protect certain areas of your home from being swept with a mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of collecting hair from pets. It was able to collect many of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even got into some of the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots had struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was starting or completing its task.

Its main drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to swap out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which could be a hassle when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it does have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its massive dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down automated vacuum cleaner of the buttons to switch on the child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert in its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You will need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
