The official list below only shows time periods that are reserved and not confirmed exams. It is important to confirm with your instructor whether or not the final exam for a course will be scheduled during this time.

Be sure to read all the Goethe exam rules and guidelines on each exam page before making a decision to register. Register for the appropriate level of exam.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification tests. Check out the exam pages for more details about exam content, exam terms and conditions, as well as additional guidelines. If you require special accommodations due to a chronic illness, hearing or visual impairment, you should contact the exam provider directly. Make sure to provide detailed documentation at the time of registration.

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday includes a "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to find their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a list of exam times for the classes that must be tested under NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes that are held in the evenings are scheduled for the regular class meeting times of the final exam weeks.

Registration

Students are encouraged to look up the exam schedule online. However, it is important to note that the final exam schedule could be altered at any time. Students should therefore inquire with their instructors for the correct date and time of their exam. Students should be sure to print the official list and bring it for their exams.

Students should also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and conditions of the exam, in addition to the schedule. These are available on the exam's individual page. Students acknowledge having read and agreed to the terms and conditions upon registration.

Exam locations try their best to accommodate participants who have special needs. The nature and severity of these needs must be declared on the registration and confirmed by a physician's attestation. The locations of the exam must respect and maintain confidentiality.

If students are scheduled to take three exams on the same day, they must contact their department or instructor to arrange for a make-up test. While it is possible to take three tests in a single day, it could cause an increase in stress levels and could affect the quality of the test. In addition, the professor might not be able to offer a makeup exam on a different day.


Students should review their course materials prior to taking the test and work on their German skills. The exam is a paper test that measures your ability to read and write, as well as speak German. The results of the exam are presented on a scale from A1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate demonstrates the attainment of the language level A1. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competence set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages.
