terence crawford fight last night
Crawford, who started his professional career in 2009 at super lightweight, was a heavy favorite entering the bout on Saturday. There was an issue with his gloves earlier in the night, too, as one of them split at the seams. That came only after he initially objected to Madrimov’s Grant Gloves, though he later agreed to wear them. That delayed his warm-up slightly.

It started out as a cautious affair, with both fighters trying to establish position and feel out the other through the first three rounds. That approach did not agree with the capacity crowd at BMO Stadium. Having dealt with blazing temperatures and sunshine for most of the long card at the outdoor home of Major League Soccer team LAFC, they responded with jeers and whistles.
Round 11: Let’s just say this one is not a barnburner. Kalajdzic snaps a jab into Morrell’s grill. Morrell lunges forward and snaps Kalajdzic’s head back with a looping right. Big uppercut followed by a straight left for Morrell. He pressures Kalajdzic into the ropes but can’t get any offense going. Snappy one-two from Kalajdzic. It held up better than Spence’s chin did. Crawford was out-landed by his taller/longer/stronger opponent, and the margin was wide: a full 90 additional punches for Spence. But these numbers are what mattered. He threw 163 power shots —and he landed 98 of them. A 60% rate on power punches is almost unheard of, let alone in a blockbuster fight, let alone against an opponent like Spence, who had never before been knocked down. Not once.
